Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Let's Ride Along (the "Service") is designed, built, and operated by Codebirds, an independent, unincorporated group of software developers — not a registered company (see our Terms of Service for more on this). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the app and website at letsridealong.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. "We," "us," and "our" refer to Codebirds.

2. Information We Collect

• Account & profile: phone number (used with a one-time passcode to sign in), email address (if you provide one), name, profile photo, bio, and other profile details you choose to add.
• Garage: motorcycle make, model, and other bike details you add to your garage.
• Rides & location: rides you create or join, ride routes and GPS locations while you're actively using ride-tracking features, RSVP/participation history, and ride timestamps.
• Content: "memories" and photos you post, likes, comments, and other content you create.
• Social graph: who you follow, group memberships, and related activity feed data.
• Device & usage data: basic technical data such as device type and app version, and how you interact with the app, used to keep the Service working and to fix bugs.
• Communications: messages you send us, such as support requests or reports.

We do not knowingly collect payment information — the Service is free.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and secure your account, including sending OTP codes via SMS.
• To operate core features: showing nearby rides, rendering maps and routes, connecting you with hosts and other riders, and tracking rank/XP/badges.
• To let other users see the profile, ride, and content information you choose to share, as intended by the app's social features.
• To communicate with you about the Service, respond to support requests, and enforce our Terms and Ride Code of Conduct.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the Service, and to fix bugs.
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only:

• With other users, as part of the Service's normal operation — for example, your profile, garage, ride participation, and memories/photos are visible to other riders per the app's design and any visibility settings it offers.
• With service providers that help us run the Service — specifically Google, whose Google Maps Platform and Firebase products we use for maps/routing, authentication, and related app infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy terms (see Google's Privacy Policy).
• If required by law, legal process, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
• If Codebirds' operations are ever transferred (for example, to a newly incorporated entity taking over the Service), in which case this Policy would continue to apply to your information.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you return or as needed for legal, safety, or record-keeping reasons. You can request earlier deletion — see Section 6.

6. Your Rights & Choices

• Access & correction: you can view and edit most of your profile, garage, and content directly in the app.
• Deletion: the app does not yet have a self-service "delete my account" button. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email we@letsridealong.com from the phone number or email associated with your account. We'll process the request within a reasonable time, subject to any legal or safety-related retention needs.
• Notifications: you can manage notification preferences in the app's settings, where available.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at we@letsridealong.com and we will investigate and remove it as appropriate.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

Because we use Google Maps Platform and Firebase, some of your data may be processed or stored on servers located outside India, including in countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your home country.

10. Cookies & Local Storage

The letsridealong.com website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Google Maps, embedded on the site and in the app, may set its own cookies or use local storage as described in Google's Privacy Policy. The website may use your browser's local storage for basic functional purposes only (for example, recognizing that a page is being viewed inside the app).

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the Effective Date above and, where reasonable, notify you in the app.
