Kawasaki has launched three MY27 motorcycles in India, and if you were expecting a long list of updates, well… there isn't one.
The Japanese manufacturer has introduced the MY27 versions of the Z650RS, Versys 650 and Vulcan S in India. All three motorcycles continue with their familiar 649cc parallel-twin engines, existing features and essentially the same specifications as their MY26 counterparts.
Starting with the Z650RS, the retro-styled motorcycle continues to be priced at ₹7.83 lakh (ex-showroom), exactly the same as the MY26 model launched in December 2025. The motorcycle continues with its 649cc parallel-twin engine producing 68 PS and 64 Nm, along with a 6-speed gearbox, Assist & Slipper Clutch, Kawasaki Traction Control and smartphone connectivity.
The styling and equipment also remain familiar, with the round LED headlamp, dual-dial instrumentation, LCD display and retro-inspired design continuing unchanged. The MY27 model is also available in the same Metallic Ocean Blue colour.
Then comes the Versys 650, which is also priced at ₹8.63 lakh (ex-showroom), the exact same price as the MY26 motorcycle. And this is where the MY27 update gets particularly familiar. The MY26 Versys 650 was actually given a substantial equipment upgrade, including a TFT colour display with smartphone connectivity, Kawasaki Traction Control, LED lighting and a four-way adjustable windshield.
For MY27, those features continue, along with the same 649cc parallel-twin engine producing 67 PS and 61 Nm. The motorcycle also retains its 21-litre fuel tank, 17-inch wheels and 150 mm front and 145 mm rear wheel travel. The only obvious change here is the colour. The MY26 model was offered in Metallic Graphite Gray/Metallic Spark Black, while the MY27 motorcycle comes in Candy Lime Green. So, if you wanted your Versys 650 to look different this year, Kawasaki has you covered. Just don't expect it to ride differently.
Finally, there is the Vulcan S. This one gets the most noticeable change of the three, although it isn't exactly the kind of change that requires a new model-year press release. The MY27 Kawasaki Vulcan S is priced at ₹8.23 lakh (ex-showroom), which is ₹10,000 more than the MY26 model's ₹8.13 lakh price.
Apart from that, the motorcycle continues with the same 649cc parallel-twin engine producing 61 PS and 62.4 Nm. It retains the 6-speed gearbox, Assist & Slipper Clutch, ERGO-FIT adjustable ergonomics and the same suspension travel figures. There is, again, a colour change. The MY26 Vulcan S was offered in Metallic Flat Spark Black, while the MY27 model gets a Metallic Carbon Gray/Metallic Bluish Green finish.
So, there you have it. Kawasaki's MY27 650cc lineup brings the Z650RS, Versys 650 and Vulcan S into another model year without any major mechanical or equipment changes. The Z650RS and Versys 650 retain their MY26 prices, while the Vulcan S gets a ₹10,000 increase.
Essentially, Kawasaki has taken three already-established 650cc motorcycles, given two of them new paint options, changed the model year and, in the case of the Vulcan S, added ₹10,000 to the price. And honestly, sometimes the biggest update is simply, there is no update
