Royal Enfield is working on a new 750cc platform, which is expected to be a big-bored version of the current 650cc parallel-twin engine that the company has. In this regard, we have seen multiple test mules already – Continental GT 750, Continental GTR 750, Interceptor 750, and the flagship adventure tourer, the Himalayan 750.
A recent video shows the upcoming Himalayan 750 up close and captures the exhaust sound of this middleweight ADV. The video reveals a deep and bassy exhaust note. The base note at idling is rumbling, and with revs, the rumble intensifies, sounding akin to a hearty V-twin in character.
Notably, the Himalayan 750 test mule features a single-pod exhaust end can that is swept upward for water wading, unlike other 750 test mules that use twin exhaust cans. Other notable features spied include dual disc brakes at the front, adjustable USD suspension with a remote preload adjuster, cruise control switchgear, TPMS, and a circular TFT Tripper Dash.
The new 750cc oil-cooled parallel twin is speculated to generate around 55 bhp and 60 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, making it a serious contender in the middleweight adventure segment.
